How to cook rice for sushi – the right rice recipe
How to cook the rice for sushi? You can boil sushi rice in just 30 minutes. It turns out crumbly, sticky and very tasty. After I learned this recipe, I cook rice not only for sushi, but also for other dishes. For example, in salads.
- 500g round rice
- 550g water.
- 55 gr. 3% vinegar
- 45gr sugar
- 5g salt.

Be careful to weigh all the ingredients!
Rinse the rice several times with cold water. It is important that the water is clear and the fine white particles are gone.
Fill rice with 550 grams of water, put it on a high heat, cover with a lid and wait for boiling.
As it boils, put the heat on minimum, cook for 15 minutes.
After 15 minutes, cover the pot with a cotton towel, put the lid on top and wait another 15 minutes.
How to make sushi rice dressing
You just need to mix everything thoroughly. If you do not have 3% vinegar, use the usual 9% table vinegar, just do not forget to dilute it 1/3. The sugar and salt dissolve well in the vinegar, so you don’t have to heat it up.
After 15 minutes, pour the salt, vinegar and sugar mixture into the rice, stir well and let stand.
